Treasure Hunt

There's a special 13th Birthday happening in August & I am going to take that special person on a Treasure Hunt.  So I needed to make a special box that will hold the map and all the clues to find those special treasures that lurk out there.

All the paper is DCWV Linen Closet.  All dies are Spellbinders.  Thank goodness for Xyron Sticker Maker or I would never have gotten the paper lace to stick.  The silver brads in the middle of the flowers is CTMH Designer Brads Shimmer.  After our treasure hunt, I hope she'll keep the box with all her momentos in it.
The box is made of 12x12

Sparkle & Sprinkle Mudd Puddles

I had a typo in my last blog, they are Mudd Puddles not Buddies, however I really like them so I am sure they will be my buddies!  They are so much fun to use.  I am definitely going to have to go to the beach again just to have an excuse to use them.

DCWV Mat Stacks

I actually bought this paper to make a few wedding cards, but the minute I found these photos, I knew I had to put the two together.
SUPPLY LIST:
DCWV Card Stock (Pink), The Luxury Stack (Pearl Pink), CTMH Card Stock (Colonial White)
Spellbinders Die - Fleur de Lis Squares, Fancy Tags 2, Parasian Accents.
CTMH Opaques Adhesive Gems (Pearl), ZVA Creative Self Adhesive Pearls
CTMH Ribbon Slides, Armada corner punch. Dew Drop Brilliance Crimson Cooper Ink.

All of these photos were taken when we went to Texax in 1980 for a family reunion. I think it was the last time my Mom had all her kids together.  Austin wasnt born yet.  Ashleigh was just a baby.  Out of all the photos taken, she only wrote on 4 of them.  I wanted to save her handwritting, but I didnt want to make room for it on the page, so I decided to hide it behind a decoration.  Here is what I came up with.

A Bowwow

I loved this CTMH stamp when it came out one of those that I just had to have along with the other 800 plus stamps I have in my collection :).  Not to fear they all get used eventually some more than others.
I got my email from Heart2Heart http://heart2heartchallenges.blogspot.com/2012/06/ribbon-challenge.html for the ribbon challenge & low & behold Allisa from Rockymtncrafts.blogspot.com
had made an adorable card using this dog, so I took her idea and made four cards tonight using CTMH Roxie paper, ink and ribbon.  Here is the outcome.
All cards are standard size - I used pink beads on the collar.

This guy got a red glitter collar.

My husband suggested a pink tongue and nose, maybe not the tongue.

Of course I couldnt stop there, so I had to do one more card with the same concept.  It's this very large giraffe that I've had for years & because of it's size it's hard to use, I was running out of paper so I had to use my cut outs creatively.  It worked out really well & is something I will keep in mind when I have that one perfect sheet of paper that I need to push the limit with for a project.
The right side is the front of my card & will be covered up with the tan background paper which is CTMH and is two sided.  The left side I left open for the saying or to put a larger die cut piece over it.

Use a piece of tape to hold your die so it doesnt move.

Here is the final out come

Happy Monday

This has been a crazy month for us.  My husband is now a certified Rider Coach for TEAM AZ.  That't the good news, the bad news is his MC engine seized up, so it's in the shop.  We are managing, so I was with out a car this weekend, which was a good thing.  Cleaned up the craft room, played with photo editing software.  I purchased a table top tripod to help with taking photos of my cards.  It's a lesson in progress.  I actually got several pages of photos scrapbooked too, now that is going to be a challenge getting them photographed.

I feel like I need to broden my horizons, so I am going to start working with other products than Close To My Heart, as I try them out I promise to post them here so you wont have the same trial & error that I go thru.

Please check out my Card tab for all the "new" cards made there.  I'll update my scrapbook pages here in the new future.

I did try the "dryer sheet" flower that was on SplitCoast Stampers  it was not easy cutting the dry sheet in the Grand Calibur.  I made my flowers Posies.  I had to finish cutting them with scissors.  Here is my end result.

I used Paper Source Round card spritz it with red alcohol ink, stamped the blue lace, sentiment, and leaves with CTMH Outdoor Denium ink and CTMH stamps.  The round doiley is store bought one is adhered to the back of the card & the other to the middle front.  I secured the dryer sheet flower with a blue brad.

Blogging

So I spent the weekend checking out blogs & all the creative people out there making paper crafts.  The one thing I can say for sure are these ladies are very talented, and have great time management skills.  As you can see it has been a while since I last posted something.  I promise to be better in the future.  I have done something to my desktop computer at home & do not have access to this blog so that will be my new quest to figure out what on earth I have turned off.  In the mean time, please check out my new cards on my facebook page.
